I believe they know that their cash comes from different folks not getting cash…It’s disgusting, as a result of they don’t do something. No, they do harm is what they do. And if every little thing is concerning the backside line for them and saving cash, then there’s nothing left to the artwork type.”
He added, “[Studio heads] usually are not ushering in any sort of lovely work by their presence. They’re sort of doing the alternative of that. And I believe it’s evidenced in what Hollywood produces, and the way the costlier a film is, the much less worth it has to the tradition.”
As a substitute, Kaufman argued that filmmakers can be “[better] served by extra locations that aren’t beneath the management” of main studios, like indie movies.

It’s handing it over to a non-sentient, non-feeling, non-rebellious entity….If we cease creating ourselves, then we’re giving up one thing…that’s primal, that’s important, that’s been a part of human expertise — and essential to human expertise — so long as there have been people. Since there have been cave work. It’s an urge, a need to specific the expertise of being alive.”
Kaufman summed up, “I don’t assume it’s a lesser urge than consuming or intercourse or something. I believe it’s primal. If we don’t perceive that it’s primal, and if we’re taught that it’s not, then I’m afraid for us.”
